Greetings race fans!

Yes I know I have left it a bit late to get the pre-race report on but I have been a bit busy planning for the Xmas Do.

You have already had one e-mail from me with the booking forms on but I have been told this was a bit confusing and did not have all the relevant info on it so you will be getting another one shortly.

As we are running our own Do this year it would be a big help to get as many deposits and menus in as soon as possible so we can make payments to the hotel etc. as we cannot pass the tab to the MGCC.

The forms this time round can be printed off and sent to Richard Tinkler with the money…he will also take them from you at Cadwell…so try not to leave it to the last minute as everyone sorting this out is doing this in their own time.

OK then, on to Cadwell.

33 drivers are on the grid this time out which is a little lower than last year but it looks as though we will still get our split races.

This worked well last time out as the classes were more closely matched then can happen when we are all out together.

Groups A F & T are the first to take to the track and we see the welcome return of Margaret Farquhar-Rigg and Kevin Stibbards in class F. The “silver fox” old JB does not look like he will make it this time out after being the sole contender in the class at Mallory.

The T Types are back in force too, with no less than five of them registered to race. As always John Bussey will be the one to watch here as he wrings the neck of his faithful car and no doubt he will be entered in several other races as well as the PBIC.

Class A sees the return of Wilson the Clockwork Orange, but no sign of his pal Legs of Doom as he spends a little more time reconstructing the Grey Pig.

The two James’s will continue their battle with the Old Geezer Lew Bergonzi, but the Blue Flash (Darby) has his proto-type Flash2 Engine installed following the blow-up at Mallory. (Thanks for the race report James) Will this new engine be enough to beat Mr Immac himself who is out on new rubber?

The remaining classes B, C & E will be out on their own with a reasonable showing for class B but a slightly less reasonable one for class C.

I don’t recognise car 154 perhaps someone will let me know if this is a new bod?

The Brat Pack of Holmes and Spencer are re-joined by “quick jaw Magraw” Simon Cripps who returns after a two race gap.

Now what about class E then…it’s shown on the programme but is there anyone in it?

Anyhow this will be the first big test for our caretaker co-ordinator Long Haired Dave as he prepares himself for his first full season running the championship in 2011 – I feel he may have to spend more time co-ordinating and less time helping repair the Metro of brother Alan who is attempting to re-incarnate (used that joke before so move on) his battered car after Mallory..…perhaps that’s why they called it the Phoenix Challenge before?

So there we are folks, Lincolnshire beckons for a two-day outing, let’s give it our Peter Best shot!

I hope to pitch the Jonesey Racing Team Tent on Friday night and then work my way through the Pete Burchill stash of beer!

See you there.

Jonesey

****************STOP PRESS************

or Breaking News if you watch Sky-

I forgot to mention that former racer Dan Neaves of Team Neaves fame, finding he has some time on his hands has kindly offered to compile the Xmas Video showing all those classic moments from this seasons racing.

Please forward your tapes / DVD’s / Memory sticks or SD cards to him at the following address so he can get to work. He will return all material at Snett or at the Xmas Do itself… don’t be shy get that footage in!!!!

Mallory 2010.

We are just a week away from our next race where we are the guests of the Morgan Sports Car Club at Mallory.

An interesting if somewhat smaller entry list for this meeting as there are many regulars missing. What has happened to all the one-race wonders that appeared at Silverstone?

Not only that, where are Cripps and his V8 pals?… same goes for the Grey Pig, and perhaps Mallory did not a-peel to the Clockwork Orange after his last outing at Silverstone…or is it just that this was not on the automatic entry and there will be a list of late entries when we get there?

At present we have a field of 21 cars ready to do battle on the little Mallory Circuit. Last year I was relegated to spectator when the head gasket blew…I hope for a better visit this time out.

Although Class A has only 6 entrants, sadly they are all likely to be very close together and in front of me!

Nevertheless I have been liberally patching up the trusty B with plastic padding and Halfords white paint, although it is looking very second-hand after the Silverstone outing. I now have a monthly delivery of headlamps and front indicator lenses much to the delight of my local MG stockist.

Although Mallory is the friendly circuit I seem to remember that a bit of paint got swapped around last time out, fingers crossed for a clean race please!!!

Class B is double the size of most of the others and the ranks are swelled by one of the Wheelers in car 31. Dave Brown is shown out in a Sprite, is this the same Dave Brown of ZT and MGF fame?

Class C sees the return of Neaves Senior determined not to be out done by youngster Ollie. There is a new entrant in the shape of Mark Ellis in his twin-cam MGA which should really put the cat amongst the pigeons…this quick car is well known in other series.

At least John Binczyk is assured of a good result as he only has to finish the race to win Class F, not much of a result though as he is the only entrant!

Just to finish off then, thanks to Team Tripod for this photo showing James Darby getting the prize for “Best Moonwalk” at the recent Michael Jackson Tribute at Silverstone!

Greetings Race Fans!

Well the year is flying by and already we are at the half way point and the Silverstone extravaganza is upon us.

It’s a bit like entering the National Lottery as you can be sure of a full grid with loads of drivers you have never heard of and will probably not see again all year. The last count was that we had 42 on the grid.

That said there are many familiar faces coming out to play this time and also the return of some better known drivers in the shape of Margaret Farquhar-Rigg, Rob Weasley and James Pitt.

In fact I am thinking of changing my name to James to see if it helps with my driving as the two James’s seem to have the monopoly on the podium for class A this year.

Mr Pitt is a bit of an unknown quantity as he returns after a few years absence; will he be up to the challenge of this very competitive class?

Miss Daisy has failed to locate a new engine after the explosion at Oulton and will not be out this time round.

I am also hearing that Lofty Cripps has spent more time on his post-race speeches and not enough time on his V8 repairs; this means he will be out in his class B roadster to give Long Haired Dave a run for his money.

John Bussey is back as the only class T entrant looking to give his TC a spin round the full Silverstone circuit.

The Neaves clan will be represented by 22 year old Ollie while Blaine repairs the Red-devil and Dan continues his busking in order to raise funds for his entry fee.

We also have the new Vulcan Team consisting of former loony Pete “Scotty” Burchill, and Klingon Dan the Sand Ludlow. They will be making the trek to Silverstone but the only warp they have is in their minds. Having phasered out the old team they hope to stun the crowds but it will take more than an enterprising new name to do that.

It’s racing Jim, but not as we know it.

I had hoped to get out for a bit of practice on Friday but work commitments have prevented this, so I will just have to remember to go straight on at turn two and to attend the drivers briefing!

So ladies and gentlemen, the clock is ticking until the mayhem that is turn one is unleashed as all 40 odd cars try to go round at the same time….

I have stocked up on replacement wings and lamp clusters!

Let battle commence!

See you Sunday.

Pre-Race Report Brands Hatch April 2010

Eyes down and look in, here we go again. Yes that’s right folks the Peter Best Insurance Challenge is back in town.

We are going out with all guns blazing with a double –header season opener at Brands to blow away the winter blues on Sunday 11th April 2010.

Quite a few changes for 2010 with several new drivers to our series and a few strategic changes for some existing ones.

Not only that, even the MGCC are getting in on the act, announcing the departure of Maggie Yeadon as our co-ordinator only for her return to be announced this week by the official site….looks like Maggie just couldn’t bear to leave us and who can blame her?

The PBIC goes from strength to strength in spite of the recession and spiralling fuel prices for 2010.

Rumour has it that 2009 Champion James –the-carrot cruncher-Walpole is working on a new fertiliser based fuel additive.

Also a return to more traditional power plants emerges in the shape of Wilson, who has taken on the Clockwork Orange for this year’s series.

Although I have it on good authority that the clockwork part of his nickname is really more appropriate for Legs of Doom Piggott who drives the grey pig. I hear he has been agonising over whether to continue with his dynamo based electrics or not, his big worry is that those new fangled alternators may not provide enough power for his cigarette lighter.

Class A welcomes Wilson and bids farewell to Alan Brooke junior who has taken a leaf out of sandbag’s book and has gone down the K series route….(don’t start all that again) and has moved his Metro into class C although the engine is shown as 1396….an early sandbag attempt methinks.

The rest of Class A are the usual suspects in the form of James Darby with his new homebuilt engine, Simon Tinkler in Primrose who’s engine is a closely guarded secret, yours truly in the great unwashed B….which hopefully will sit a little higher off the ground this year following the purchase of some taller springs.

Miss Daisy is back and we eagerly anticipate her new performance following the relaxation of the Montego rules at the drivers meeting.

No sign of Lord God Thompson….but it’s not too late for him yet.

Class B has it’s regulars joined by some new faces in the form of the following:
Car 27 P. Adam Entwistle with an MGB GT …(WHO are you…we really want to know ooh ooh…etc etc)
Car 34 Roland Gray & Phillip Simpson in their MGB Roadster 1950cc, not sure if this a shared drive here.
Car 53 Kevin Swann in a MGB Roadster
Car 59 Simon Polley in his Midget , now is he new? ..his name seems familiar..I am sure the bearded one will correct me in due course.

No Burchill this time out…instead the lean green loony machine will be piloted by good old Sandbag Ludlow…who true to form was claiming some very unusual lap times at a recent testing session at Rockingham.

Class C looks to be an all action packed group with the Return of Beaker in “Tripod” the amazing midget.

Lofty Cripps still smarting after his off-road moment at Snett is back with a vengeance and just to be sure has two cars entered on the books…but promises to drive just one at a time.

New guy 78 Jonathan Wills in an MG ZR 160 joins the merry band, but where is Vic Reeves lookalike Barry Holmes I hear you ask, surely he’s not going to let that young whippersnapper Ollie Neaves repeat his last race victory???

Last and of course least we have the three musketeers in class F, namely three wheels on my wagon Stibbards, the Silver Fox and Kermit.

Still a few gaps here and there with some of the regular faces missing but still some time left yet before the closing date for entries….

Now as promised the much maligned and never to be repeated ( unless I get really short of material) yes it’s the good old caption competition results.

Thanks to all of you who did enter…naturally I cannot publish many of them due to the …eh how can I put it…colourful answers you provided.

Nonetheless with the names removed to protect the guilty , in no particular order, here are some of the better ones…

Invisible lollies makes you go faster
Where’s my ice-cream?
Police warn ice-cream thefts on the increase.
Decline of NHS dentists hit pensioners hard.
Race driver fined for using International Drivers Signal.

And the winner is………

“Being Lew’d”………..the lucky driver is actually not going to be on track for the first half of the season as he wishes to spend more time away from his family, it’s none other than Desperate Dan Neaves.

Well done Dan - I will bring the glittering no expense spent prize to Brands and present it to you or one of the Neaves Clan there.

Well that’s all for now folks……all that remains is for me to say-

Gentlemen, start your engines….

See you there!!

As my bout of man-flu continues it has at least allowed me to churn out the Pre-Race Report a little early, so for your reading delight here it is:

Continuing with my World War 2 Anniversary theme which proved so (un)popular in my last report, I have compiled a brief history of the former Air Force Base Snetterton Heath, which we all know and love today as Snetterton Race Circuit.

Also known as the “breezy one”, or if last year’s meeting was anything to go by “Lake Snetterton”.

Snetterton Heath airfield was constructed in 1942 and the main runway was 6,000 feet long with two secondary runways of 4,200 feet each.

The base was originally intended for RAF use, but was allocated to the United States Army Air Force in 1943.

The airfield was opened on the 3rd of June 1943 and was used by the USAAF Eighth Air Force 386th Bombardment Group. It’s USAAF designation was Station 138, Station-ID “SN”.

The group remained at Snetterton Heath for only a few days before being transferred to RAF Boxted on 10 June 1943.

The 96th Bombardment Group arrived on 12 June 1943. The group flew B-17 Flying Fortresses as part of the Eighth Air Force’s strategic bombing campaign.

After the war, the field was closed in 1948 and fell into disuse.

With the end of military control Snetterton Heath was privately purchased in 1952 with a view to utilising the runways and perimeter tracks as a motor racing circuit.

The first motor cycle meeting was held in 1953 and the first motor races the following year.

So there you have it folks, the informative Jonesey Racing website for a change?

Although Snett featured heavily in WW2 there are still some battles yet to take place.

That’s right for our very own season finale fast approaches and with it all to play for (for some at least) a right royal battle is forecast to see who will be crowned champion.

Will it be “plane” sailing for the Carrot Cruncher as he heads towards another Championship title, or will he be propelle(r)d into oblivion as Lofty tries to sortie him out!

Class A
This looks to be all sewn up for James Walpole and he always goes well at Snett, but with both Tinkler & Darby on the radar he will have to watch out as they will be gunning for that title.

Walpole is also looking good for the overall championship title once more although Lofty Cripps is right on his tail with Long Haired Dave still looking dangerous in third.

Class B
Dave Brooke heads the table here and astonishingly Burchill is second ahead of Patt Fenn who has yet to get to grips with his V8 GT.

Class C
Cripps has this in the bag especially with Sandbag going to Britcar & missing the final race at Snett. This will probably result in Sandbag securing second closely followed by Vic Reeves who I think is just a little too far behind to threaten his second place.

Class F
Although Dave Brown leads Rigg, dropped scores will play a big part here, especially with Rigg’s recent return to form. I note the Kermit driving trombone player has no points to drop whereas Mr Brown going off to town is looking to jettison at least 25 points.

All in all it promises to be a nail-biting end to the season.

So, until we meet again, remember “If all else fails – it’s an MG what did you expect?”

Jonesey

Pitlane Gossip:
Burchill suffers tourettes relapse in Cadwell video.
Jonesey-Racing website to launch Christmas Caption Competition (still not too late to send in those photos).

PS- Interestingly I notice Paul Rayment has entered a B and who could forget the long awaited return of Simon Hutchinson in the Tripod?

Greetings Race Fans !

Well the grids for Cadwell have been published and the PBIC will have the bulk of the track time by hosting a total of four separate races.

This will mean class wins will be known on race day, but the overall positions may take a little longer to work out.

This will be the cause of concern amongst many drivers as we are once again at the time of year when many are trying to work out how they are fairing taking into account dropped scores.

This is of no interest to me of course as I have been driving particularly poorly this year. I would like to echo the words of Jason Plato in the BTCC who said he has abandoned his bid for the championship and will just be going for race wins for the rest of the season.

In my case I will just be going for race finishes!

There has been a suspicious lack of activity since Mallory on the comments front. Suspicious because when this has happened before it normally means all the drivers are too busy tinkering and adding go-faster goodies and are unable to spend any time on their computers.

For my part I have been trawling the parts bin also known as my shed, and hitting the old Ebay specials in a bid to get my car ready for Cadwell, following the blow-up at Mallory.

In time honoured fashion it still isn’t running but we still have one week to go and I am hopeful that one way or another the trusty B will be ready in time!!

Of course I was not the only one to suffer the kiss of death at Mallory as a couple of other drivers also DNF’d.

It seems that Legs of Doom car 60 has managed to repair his shattered dreams, sorry I mean clutch, and will be eyeing up last place. He will find this relatively uncontested as Miss Daisy will not be there as she is spending more time with her family.

John Yea also seems to have resolved his ignition problems and is back in car 74.

A new arrival will ensure the later MG models are still represented in the form of a Maestro car 10 entered by Andrew and Henry Sharpe. In fact I am not sure if they have two Maestros both racing as car 10 or if they are sharing the same one.

I believe I have also spotted another new driver namely Sandra Clark in class B Car 48.

Any information about the new competitors true or false is always welcome!

All things being well I hope to be pitching the Jonesey-Racing tent on Friday afternoon, to allow me to soak up the atmosphere (and the leaking oil) with my fellow competitors.

Hopefully the Burchill BBQ will be in full swing, although I must admit I will miss the biker’s beer tent that was at Cadwell last year.

Enough waffle for now and back to the garage to continue repairs.

See you there!

Jonesey

PIT LANE GOSSIP
Alan Brooke car 44 is looking to move classes (again) at the end of the season and follow in Sandbag’s footsteps…footsteps in the sand you might say, with the purchase of one of those K series engines so I hear.

Greetings Race Fans!

In true PBIC Fashion the arrangements have changed, changed and changed again.

The plus side being that what threatened to be the shortest race in history has now been increased to a whopping 18 minutes plus 1 lap…WOW!

This is because the BCV8’s were unable to field sufficient entries and their race has been scratched from the card.

Following my self-destruction at Silverstone I have managed to cobble together a diff from some old bits lying around in the shed & hope to be able to get through practice with this pre-historic relic.

I am grateful for the very generous offer of the loan of a diff from Clockwork Orange Junior, which would probably have been the most sensible option, but being sensible was never my strong point.

Much as I hate to divert my one reader away from the site, for those of you who understand these things there appears to be a bit of a rule-book based rant taking place on the Team Neaves Site.

There are some suggestions from Mr Reeves -which surprisingly seem quite sensible to me- and look to benefit predominantly Class B drivers with 4 pot MGB’s which is nice!

In all probability this will be the hot topic at the Xmas Drivers meeting so I would suggest we all bring in ample supplies as it could be another marathon event!

I have received a very fetching photo of my car taken by Wilson during our last visit to Silverstone.
But is’nt it always the way…just when you are about to take the photo someone wanders into shot wearing a silly hat?

As they say if you want to get ahead get a hat.

Early weather forecasts suggest rain for the Mallory meeting (hurrah) although the Met Office have let me down several times this year in this regard.

I recall a plus point at Mallory is they serve a mighty fine breakfast.

The downside is there is very little grass to pitch your tent on and they have a habit of making you wait for ages in order to get in or out of the circuit.

Bearing this in mind I will be setting out at the crack of sparrows on the Sunday morning, sadly missing out on the opportunity of Burchill’s midnight Barbecue.

See you there!

Greetings Race Fans!

You find the Jonesey Racing Team on their annual holiday in Portugal where I had hoped to be spending my time at Estoril but instead all talk of motor racing has been banned.

Even worse after praying for rain at the races I find my prayers have now been answered and the rain is falling not just on the plain but also on me.

As I tried to put thoughts of the ageing MG gently dripping fluids onto the garage floor behind me I was devastated to discover a relative of one of the racing teams is performing in the hotel each night.

Dave Neaves plays piano says the poster! I could tell he was related as he starts off very slowly during practice and then half way through the tune he really puts his foot down until he skids off his piano stool at the end!

Anyhow, back to the racing as the time fast approaches for the Silverstone Dead or Alive Meeting.

As usual a massive entry has been received for the PBIC and Class B is currently showing 16 entries on their own….at this rate they will soon need a separate race for themselves.

A few familiar and some unfamiliar faces are making an appearance this year.

S/S Live sees the return of former Clockwork Orange owner Paul Rayment in his MGF Cup car. Not sure if this is going to be a regular competitor with us or if he’s just shaking it down in readiness for next year’s season in the Trophy Series, but he is expected to be quick following the sale of the Orange to the man known only as Wilson.

Also sees the return of Andy Young in the notorious MGC. Those of us in the slower classes (which will be all of us I imagine) will need to keep an eye on our rear view mirrors…..unless the much threatened ballast has been added ay Andy?

Incidentally I hear there will be a mobile rolling road at the track….now wouldn’t it be interesting to have the cars checked out and see what power they really are running???? I am happy to be the first one tested but I reckon I might be the only one to turn up!

Team Neaves have entered three cars but it remains to be seen if the brothers Grim will be able to resolve their clutch problems and also take their towing tests, buy tow-cars and then buy trailers…..hmm.

Paul Rigg will be debuting his Metro and Margaret will be out in the MGF….so who will do the race report I ask?

Ewart Kitson returns in the ZS after the engine blow up earlier in the year and Lew Bergonzi buoyed with his victory at Brands has splashed out his Cold Weather allowance on a Silverstone entry.

Burchill and the Loony self publicity team have been at work with a nice article in MGE Mag this month…it was nice as there was no picture of Blagger Burchill in it.

In light of the excellent response received to the Blaine Neaves / Rod Stewart Special which seemed to strike a chord with everyone (how do I do it I hear you ask) and in keeping with the Dead or Alive Theme (You spin me round like a record etc), I have decided to do yet another special & compile a Pop Top Ten for the drivers;(well I got to thirteen but will leave the rest to you lot).

So as Doom cranks up the gibber-o-meter, and in no particular order here they are:

1. Simon Cripps – Rocket Man (40)
2. Dave Brooke - Long haired lover from Liverpool (11)
3. Pete Burchill - Slow boat to china (13)
4. Alan Jones - What estate I’m in …is that a real record? (45)
5. Michael Piggot - Jake the Peg (60)
6. Simon Tinkler - Mellow yellow (18)
7. John Wreck-it. - I love the sound of breaking glass (5)
8. Pete Bramble - How low can you go (69)
9. Barry Holmes - The dove from above…not a record but you see where I’m going with this (37)
10. Dan Ludlow - Anything by Sandy Shaw (70)
11. Blaine Neaves - Bob the Builder (7)
12. The Everley Brothers (Dan & Ollie) – Happy Trail(er)s (3/4)

13. Weasley You spin me round

And finally…Until we meet again (Vera Lynn) at Silverstone, I thought I’d end with a proverb this month, so here goes:

The grass is always greener of the other side of the track. (This will require the introduction of the obscure-o-meter I think)

Jonesey

Welcome race fans…yes this is the BIG ONE!

Forget about Silverstone or MG Live or whatever we are calling it this year, even better than that, we have the long awaited and much heralded arrival of the new apprentice drivers with Team Neaves. Will they get fired (up)?

That’s right Dan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are the guys that are promising to set the world on fire by both achieving podium finishes in their first race and blowing the opposition into the dust.

Their pristine cars are soon to turn their wheels in anger for the first time and take on the mighty Peter Best field at Brands.

Not the track I would have chosen to start my race career but then what do I know? Not only that the grid is so full we have had to send the overspill out in another race…although who they are remains to be seen.

I guess I ought to apologise now to Legs of Doom as his gibber-o-meter will melt after this Special Report. He still seems to be under the misapprehension that this web-site has something to do with motor –racing, don’t know why he thought that!

The Hardy boys have styled themselves along the Top Gun theme but I can exclusively reveal their true name is Team TOT…that is short for Tarts on Track, which was attributed to them by their engine builder in light of their obsession with the presentation of their cars and their Nicky Clarke hairdos… (I blame short-haired Dave for starting off this trend.)

They are likely to give Mr Walpole and Mr Fenn some stiff competition in the best presented car stakes and are hoping that their metalflake painted engine bays will wow the crowds.

The cars are painted in gas-board blue on the outside and the Hardy boys have acknowledged that their main concern is trying to remove the tyre marks off their cars which they expect to pick up as they lap the rest of the field.

The race organisers have asked if all mirrors be removed from competitor’s cars for this double header as it is feared the lads will spend too much time admiring themselves and will delay the formation of the grid.

The Team is headed up by Blaine “Alan Sugar” Neaves and has already run into some apprentice type difficulties as they are trying to figure out how to get three cars to the track with just the one trailer!

A special feature this month (oh no not another special I hear you groan) is a little spot the film competition, in honour of the inaugural race for Stan & Ollie. A prize may or may not be given for spotting how many Laurel and Hardy films feature in this article.

Answers next month maybe…

Stan and Ollie are hoping they have the finishing touch and will leave em laughing as the two tars (t) hit the track. They will be going great guns but will it be Top Gun I hear you ask? I reckon it will be nothing but trouble and they will be in another fine mess as the blockheads take to the track. Although one good turn deserves another, it will be early to bed for the lads so their first mistake will not be missing signing on. They will be busy bodies as they begin their careers at Brands and it could be the start of a big business involving much dirty work if the trusty MG is anything to go by. Hopefully our relations won’t sour following the race but I could be wrong again and if the abilities of me and my pal are not as good as they expect they may end up at the county hospital.

Any way enough about the dynamic duo, following our outing at Oulton several drivers have had their work cut out in order to get their cars fixed in time for Brands.

Ewart Kitson in car 20 left Oulton with a suspected warped head, (the car not the driver). The Blue flash turned out to be a flash in the pan as James Darby blew (or should that be Blue?) an engine. It is hoped he will be able to use one of his many spare engines in order to join us at Brands.

Lew Bergonzi is back for this race and also Pat Fenn who dipped out of Oulton last time round.

There are also a lot of new drivers in class B who I presume have joined us from the BCV8 series.

I did look them up in the drivers profile section of the official site but sadly the only profile there appears to be some loser called Jones. (Surely the driver’s reps at least could find time to put down a few lines….contentious or what?)

If the new drivers (or any of the old ones come to that) would like to jot down a brief introduction in the comments section here, I would be happy to publish it and also it will give me some material with which to take the p**s next time out.

Alternatively how about the organisers/ drivers reps introducing the new guys to us at the prize giving presentation ….to welcome them to the Peter Best Series?

Ok folks, enough waffling for the time being….I am off to change my worn out brake pads and put the battery on charge in readiness for Brands.

See you there bright and early on Sunday!!! Who knows the official Oulton Race Report might be ready by then too!

Jonesey.

Eyes down look in…..here we go for race 2 of the PBIC at the renowned Oulton Park.

It looks as though the potential for a lie-in for the Blue-Streak has been dashed as we are first race with an early morning wake-up call required for the 7-15 sign on.

29 entrants have stepped up to the mark; let’s hope they are all there at the end of the race round the demanding Oulton Circuit.

Alan Jones will be looking to emulate his BTCC namesake with a podium finish, but cast your mind back to his previous outing here when Miss Daisy had a taste of the Armco. Weather conditions are vital if the yellow hearse is to make any headway here and Jones is praying for a dry race.

The traditional Friday night loony BBQ will be sadly absent at this meeting as Pete Burchill opts for a good night’s sleep instead.

The return of the silver fox is on the cards as John Binczyck finally makes his 1st appearance of the season after a last minute cancellation @ Donny.

Paul Rigg, car 76 will be out in…the TF, perhaps he has seen sense and abandoned his Metro ambitions?

Legs in car 60 has thrown caution to the wind and will be giving his Halfords spark plugs a 2nd outing looking to make last place his own.

No Blaine Neaves this time round as he misses the race to spend more time with his family, and no Beaker who has gone to spend more time with some penguins.

Hopefully I have fixed the throttle problems in order to try and mount a challenge against the gang of three in Class A which of course are Dr Evil, The Blue Streak & Primrose who all went exceptionally well at the first race of the year.

Take a look at the cracking photos taken by the loony photographer which can be accessed via the link in the supporters box. Not sure if Alan will be able to take any @ Oulton as he is marshalling but I am sure that son of Loony will be able to make up for him.

No update re brands although have heard that the overwhelming vote is for the 1 day spectacular. Look forward to seeing you all at Oulton nice and early!!!
