Greetings Race Fans and a Happy New Year to you all!
I am sure most of you have been busy working away getting ready for the new season and I can tell you that behind the scenes your new co-ordinator and committee have been beavering away too.
Without stealing the thunder from the impending news update I can say that unravelling some of the complexities of the rules and how the PBIC Series is run has proved quite time consuming and I can say that this will definitely be a work in progress as we take the series forward over the next few years.
We are all feeling the pinch financially and our primary efforts are concentrated on keeping grid levels up and getting the best value possible for our drivers.
Can I also say on a personal level, that the committee members and drivers reps, (well most of them anyway), put in a lot of their personal time and effort into running the series for the benefit of us all and it does prove difficult when little or no feedback is received.
Whilst it will not be possible to please every individual driver if you don’t attend the drivers meeting or do not comment on how the series is shaping up then you cannot really complain if things are not to your liking when they are put in place.
To this end the new website which is nearly ready will hopefully put in place an easy way for you all to make your feelings known.
My own website has done what it could in the past but it does have its limitations, bit like my driving really!
The results of the Caption Competition were very easy as only one driver bothered to enter it, so I will be presenting Driver Hewer with his illustrious Official Jonesey-Racing Memorabilia at the 1st Race of the Season. Well done Kev!
This is a good example of the silent majority come to think of it, and as the lack of interest speaks volumes I will not run the competition next year as it no longer seems that popular.
The next update will appear shortly before the first race unless some really juicy scandal emerges in between times.
Now get back to your garages and get fettling!
Jonesey

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThanks very much Jonesey,
I’m looking forward to seeing the new regs and website very much. Hopefully everyone will run with their class letter next to their race number this year so we can more easily see whos in our class during a frantic race.
Also I’m working on ensuring my Maestro will give up the smoking habit it took up late last year. Cheers, Nick A.
Clive,
Also looking forward to the new web site. Hopefully you got lots of driver profiles to put up there.
I am going to the autosport show on friday, so may see some of you there.
James.
Looking forward to the forthcoming season, and hoping that we can find a few quid to come out and play in the PBIC in 2012, happy new year to one and all.
Nick
I was pleased to hear that your cars New Years resolution was giving up smoking rather than going on a diet…

Jonsey, whats your car doing on ebay? Building a new one or packing up? Hope its not the latter
R
So Jonsey what have you bought for next season then? Ollies old shell?
Hi Jonesey, seen your car on ebay!!
Is your car for sale then? Have you bought a certain ZR ?
Rumours abound?… T U R has found a new home. So is jonesey now going to be racing a beige montego estate? Is jonesey now going to be buying and racing the very cheap ex Vulcan mgf? Is jonesey putting his old engine (not included in the sale) into Ollie’s old car that is now a class A machine? If not who is? Is jonesey entering the bongo?! Answers on a postcard to the new pbic website ….
I am glad to see the old JR website has not been completely forgotten with the launch of the new MG Racing site.
First the bad news, in two parts:
1. I will be back racing with the PBIC this year sorry about that!!
2. The JR website will still carry on for a bit longer…until you forget about me!
Watch this space!…but the good news is the buyer of the old Jonesey Shell is looking to race with the PBIC!
Glad to hear it on both parts. With all these new cars on the grid do we really need to be joined with the Trophy as per the Donington entry list? Quite like my front wings how they are.
It’s your back wings you need to watch out for!
Its already been said but the hard facts are if our numbers are too low, we will get amalgamated with another race. The only way to prevent this is to fill the grid….we have done it before and even had split races, but times are a lot harder now….but in any event we should all try & encourage drivers past & present to get out & race with us this year!
Well said that man.
Without repeating Jonesey’s comments, the easy solution is to swamp the grid by getting our entries in immediately. If everybody completes and returns the 2012 full season entry form, the MGCC will have no option but to give us our own race. The form is already on mgracing.co.uk and no money will be taken until the closing date, so it makes sense to do it now.
on another note, if you do have a beige Montego Estate available, we would be interested. Please post details on http://www.webuyanycrap.com and we’ll come round with cash
Ay up guys long time no see i am going to try my best to get to most meets this year now i am working gain, and i may even dig my camera out again
