Ahh yes...whatever happened to the rhetorical question?

I presume you have received your e-mail...but as your timely comment suggests, all drivers should have now received an e-mail from Joneseyracing as I have been volunteered to collate everyone's requirements for the Xmas Party which is on the 4th of December.

IF ANYONE HAS NOT UPDATED THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES WITH THE CLUB OR HAS NOT RECEIVED THE XMAS EMAIL PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!

With the winter rebuilds already in process, I assume that the thoughts of many drivers will be turning to the Christmas dinner and dance. Does anyone know if steps are being taken to progress this? Personally, I think we should be looking for somewhere relatively central and close to the motorway network but with good food and leisure facilities. Perhaps there is a hotel in the Northampton area that fits the bill?

The degredation in the Tripods grunt is now apparent. Half the cam lobes have gone AWOL which is the cause of my bent No3 inlet. Thankfully the spare head has monster springs on it and no floating valve issues, only lacking about 0.25" off the lift! It's been doing this since the Birkett 2008 so I must hang my head in shame at being a slack arse and not looking from underneath earlier. To the garage.....

Is anyone looking for a Class B Midget? My friend, Malcolm Self, is hanging up his driving gloves & helmet and looking to sell his Midget (Simon Hutchinson's Midget was previously owned by Malcolm). It has 2 close ratio gearboxes, a limited slip diff and an engine that has only run 4 times. It is very quick but a bit tatty. He is looking for £4,000, which I think is a bargain for a ready to race car. Anyone interested, contact me and I will forward on to Malcolm.

Been looking at Ollie’s video and trying to work out what trick parts are fitted to Lew’s MGB to make it faster round Gerard’s than the class C MGB’s. Have come to the conclusion it’s the nut behind the wheel!

Thanks to Beaker for that informative post, and just to help clarify matters for our other reader please see below:

Red Dwarf. Kryten's registration code on Red Dwarf is "Kryten additional 001". The name Kryten is a reference to the head butler Kryten (full name Kryten 2X4B-523P) who is a fictional character in the British science fiction situation comedy. The name is an adaptation from the J.M. Barrie play The Admirable Crichton.

Good write up as usual. Unfortunatley I was a spectator in the race but it was a good one.

Would love to have seen Ollie and Blaines face when Lew came past them round the outside at the Esses on about the 3rd lap!

However, as someone once said, "I'll be back" and see you all at Cadwell.

Jonesey, sorry to have gone all James May on you. I mistakenly assume that all involved in racing cars of our era understand the finer points of race engine operation. To put it in a more Clarkson friendly way, the no three inlet valve collided with the no three piston and it was F*@ked during the RAFMSA race. A consequence of changing the diff (noisy bit at the back) in an effort to get some drive out of the hairpin. The side effect was now revving into the mysterious noise zone. The cause of which I've been trying to track down since last year. I'll be guessing it was valve bounce then, the no 3 inlet valve to be precise. I must thank Dave Brown for his help changing to spare head one (no not Kryton!) in just over the hour. The video footage involving some mild swearing is available as I forgot to turn the smegging camera off! Shame a hose which none of us touched decided to blow off on the green flag lap. Swear I saw Ollie loitering with a screwdriver in his hands :-) Still I got out there, all be it 40 secs late. Hope you all enjoy Cadwell, again on the weekend the kids go back to school and the father in law is celebrating his 80th. If it should be postponed give me a shout, if not Snett it is. TTFN. Was that a class A car overtaking a 2 x Class C cars in Ollies Vid. To cap my day off sweet, had a flat battery and the jump leads were under all the stuff I'd just loaded in the boot so cheers to Lou for the help.
