Greetings Race Fans!
In true PBIC Fashion the arrangements have changed, changed and changed again.
The plus side being that what threatened to be the shortest race in history has now been increased to a whopping 18 minutes plus 1 lap…WOW!
This is because the BCV8’s were unable to field sufficient entries and their race has been scratched from the card.
Following my self-destruction at Silverstone I have managed to cobble together a diff from some old bits lying around in the shed & hope to be able to get through practice with this pre-historic relic.
I am grateful for the very generous offer of the loan of a diff from Clockwork Orange Junior, which would probably have been the most sensible option, but being sensible was never my strong point.
Much as I hate to divert my one reader away from the site, for those of you who understand these things there appears to be a bit of a rule-book based rant taking place on the Team Neaves Site.
There are some suggestions from Mr Reeves -which surprisingly seem quite sensible to me- and look to benefit predominantly Class B drivers with 4 pot MGB’s which is nice!
In all probability this will be the hot topic at the Xmas Drivers meeting so I would suggest we all bring in ample supplies as it could be another marathon event!
I have received a very fetching photo of my car taken by Wilson during our last visit to Silverstone.
But is’nt it always the way…just when you are about to take the photo someone wanders into shot wearing a silly hat?
As they say if you want to get ahead get a hat.
Early weather forecasts suggest rain for the Mallory meeting (hurrah) although the Met Office have let me down several times this year in this regard.
I recall a plus point at Mallory is they serve a mighty fine breakfast.
The downside is there is very little grass to pitch your tent on and they have a habit of making you wait for ages in order to get in or out of the circuit.
Bearing this in mind I will be setting out at the crack of sparrows on the Sunday morning, sadly missing out on the opportunity of Burchill’s midnight Barbecue.
See you there!
Jonesey

Great! No silverware for the regular group B guys then…
Have a great race chaps. Just read the news letter and have to say to Rob B that I too have suffered the Oil filler cap coming out. Put a white tippex mark down the centre front to back and see where it’s moved to post scrutineering. It’s the preferred leaning hand hold for some of the elderly gents when they lean over the bay! Happened to me twice before I sussed it out. Armpit deep in snow at the moment, 0 deg and 30 kt wind, hope Mallory is better than that
24 days left n counting..Nice hat James
Simon, re: ‘Armpit deep in snow at the moment, 0 deg and 30 kt wind’
Bring all your cold weather gear back to the UK with you mate, especially anything that’s waterproof!
Ollie,
Wait and see……
