Eyes down look in…..here we go for race 2 of the PBIC at the renowned Oulton Park.
It looks as though the potential for a lie-in for the Blue-Streak has been dashed as we are first race with an early morning wake-up call required for the 7-15 sign on.
29 entrants have stepped up to the mark; let’s hope they are all there at the end of the race round the demanding Oulton Circuit.
Alan Jones will be looking to emulate his BTCC namesake with a podium finish, but cast your mind back to his previous outing here when Miss Daisy had a taste of the Armco. Weather conditions are vital if the yellow hearse is to make any headway here and Jones is praying for a dry race.
The traditional Friday night loony BBQ will be sadly absent at this meeting as Pete Burchill opts for a good night’s sleep instead.
The return of the silver fox is on the cards as John Binczyck finally makes his 1st appearance of the season after a last minute cancellation @ Donny.
Paul Rigg, car 76 will be out in…the TF, perhaps he has seen sense and abandoned his Metro ambitions?
Legs in car 60 has thrown caution to the wind and will be giving his Halfords spark plugs a 2nd outing looking to make last place his own.
No Blaine Neaves this time round as he misses the race to spend more time with his family, and no Beaker who has gone to spend more time with some penguins.
Hopefully I have fixed the throttle problems in order to try and mount a challenge against the gang of three in Class A which of course are Dr Evil, The Blue Streak & Primrose who all went exceptionally well at the first race of the year.
Take a look at the cracking photos taken by the loony photographer which can be accessed via the link in the supporters box. Not sure if Alan will be able to take any @ Oulton as he is marshalling but I am sure that son of Loony will be able to make up for him.
No update re brands although have heard that the overwhelming vote is for the 1 day spectacular. Look forward to seeing you all at Oulton nice and early!!!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWho else but the MGCC can combine the following phrases…a)7.15am sign on
and b) remember we all do this for fun….
see you at the front of the signing on queue…. perhaps.
Not what you would call a morning person then?
Have the entries closed for Oulton yet?
Jensen Button has nothing to fear
**Jonesey said** Team Neaves sent me this clip, but I think have found one even more exciting :
This is more like it
Hi from penguin land. Had some snow already but hopefully you’ll all have some better weather than last years sh*te. My top tip if it’s wet is don’t nail it too soon over that slight rise, that barrier doesn’t move more than a couple of inches! Coupled with less run off than the contentious area at Donners doesn’t give you a great deal of time to sort it. Team Neaves are busy pondering the logistical effort required to get three cars to the circuit. I’m negotiating a short term lease on a C130 Hercules for them! Have a great day, keep it one piece…Beaker
Good to hear that Beaker is following proceedings from afar…the JR website is truly international now!!
Hopefully any argy-bargy will be confined to the track!
I think Midgetace was misleading us when he said he was going to penguin land and is really sunning himself….
Penguins
My working race car count has dropped to zero. Hopefully I can get it up to at least one before Friday!
Mr Rigg has kindly provided a video of the Donington race in a format which any inmate of Guantanamo Bay would love…see it via my Youtube link page 2!
With any luck I’ll be on the other side of the fence at Oulton!
Looking forward to the weekend, hopeful the sun may make a showing…
See you saturday morning
Pete
Me too…just need a little bit of rain to make it interesting!!
Thought I’d check out the penguin link from the bearded one and found the Penguin Personality Quiz. Apparently I’m a ‘Skipper’ (which is completely wrong as I always trip over the rope)
Oh if only, 45kt wind with added sleet, wishing I was suffering our usual weather.
‘I Like to Move it Move it’ is not what you want to be doing to the barriers at Oulton Dave.
Can’t wait for the report, keep it safe(ish)
Beaker
The Met Office are currently forecasting hail storms for saturday - hmmm driving on ball bearings…could make things interesting!
