 Well done Alan! Hopefully this will amuse the trombone player! I am really impressed with the amount of comments this month, so much so, that I am now busy writing a Valentines Day Special for next month...I know you can all hardly wait!

Yes James, I remember the mixed girds from Donington last year and being pushed into the gravel by a car from another championship.

My entry is in; the Car Club won't take the entry money until the closing date so there's no excuse about waiting for pay day, GET YOUR ENTRIES IN NOW!

b.t.w. This is all far too serious, when is this web site going to get back to its usual light hearted / irreverent style?

I have spoken to Maggie about the shared grid and being first on the timetable.

Regarding being first on the timetable:

Steve has put PBIC first as engines cannot be started until 9am and we are one of the quieter championships that is running.
He is also talking to the Morgans to look at whether they can run first as per last year.

Shared Grids:

As Paul has mentioned above the MGCC want to make sure they get enough cars on the grids to cover costs. They are therfore being covering themselves and put us with the Cockshoot. If we get enough entries we will be given our own race.
Today there ate 9 entries for PBIC. We need to be around the 25 mark to ensure we are out on our own.
The messaage is therfore

GET YOUR RACE ENTRIES IN EARLY (NOW)!

If we don't make the numbers then we may see either the cockshhot or a class from cockshoot/BCV8 out with us. (And we don't want that - remember last years mixed grids at Donnington).

More worrying was that 23 was the most that any MGCC championship had that day. Combined grids will be a issue this year and I hope it will be a problem for the organising club rather than the championships.

in 2008, 52 drivers scored points, so 23/52 for Donington isn't that great and if 1/3 of the grid is empty thats a lot of money lost, so you can well understand why the MGCC thinks this probably justifies a shared grid.

Pete,

Can you email me on the red light and fuel question since I'm not sure what the problem might be.

MSA C[c].70 states that the rear red light should be homologated by the FIA or comply with EU regulations. My understanding is that if it is 'E' marked then it complies with EU regulations and is acceptable, any factory fitted light(s) should be OK.

All good then, lets try and get some full grids. I have my entry in I am sure I an not the only one to hand over the credit card details and pre enter.

Under 21's is a good idea and should make it easy for those of us who want to sell on a older race car maybe worth getting Steve Carr to forward a for sale list with entry forms by email. This could get some extra cars out.

As for the official website I am sure Jonesey has, and I would be happy to help.

On a separate note is the club sending out a blue book update to registered drivers especially with regard to fuel testing rig and rain lights

'Same regarding the PBIC website. How many drivers have offered articles, photos or even profiles?'

Photos have been the least problem even if its only because they can be copied off the web. Newsletter content has been thanks to the unsung efforts of Magaret Farquhar-Rigg and I don't know how we'll manage if she starts racing again.

And for those that haven't kept records the PBIC entry at Donington in 2008 was 23 which is just shy of 2/3rds of a grid.

Get those entries in !!
