Pre - Race Report Silverstone June 2008

Greetings pre-race fans!

Its’ the BIG ONE!! Silverstone 2008.

A massive entry has been received once again and no surprises for regular readers of this website, Lew Bergonzi is back. (See Mallory Report).

Another possible return is Jeremy Rogers of Surrey Sports & Classics. He tends to favour a post-closing date entry to keep everyone guessing and I understand it will all depend on how busy he is at his retail stand as to whether he races or not!

On a slightly less exciting note our intrepid reporter James Darby is returning, not to drive but to keep a close eye on proceedings. He will have his work cut out to beat the race report penned by Brooke minor last time round……minor ?….now where have I seen that before???

Alan Brooke has repaired the holes in the Metro floor and is looking to return to the points this time out – not if I can help it! (But sadly I probably won’t be able to help it)

Following the shock crash at Oulton, my brother Alan assures me the Montego will be repaired, but he has decided to test it out in the Saturday endurance race first. Unfortunately I am sharing the drive so it will probably end in tears. (Or end in the tyres).

With a massive grid it looks like being a fantastic weekend, so make sure you are there!

And finally….another first for the official PBIC site. It seems following  publication of the driver’s photos the site  will now be required to carry a parental guidance warning, apparently the shots are so frightening they can only be viewed by over 18s!

And finally 2… Don’t forget the generous offer from Peter Burchill to buy all the drivers a beer on Saturday night to celebrate his success last time out. Cheers!
